    Weepers (*Spoilers*)
I was checking out info on imdb and found a post about the saddest movies that you have ever watched, which suddenly interested me. Post the American movies I think are top weepers.

    1. The Green Mile
---Don't know why I cried so hard in this one. I couldn't even fall asleep the night I watched it. Coffey seems so close to me and his death appears that God has forsaken human being because of the cruelty, indifference and ignorance they keep practising.

    2. Ladder 49
--- Jessie, Gloria and I went to watch it in film theatre. To be a little bit exaggerated, I cried my eyes out, not because Jack died knowing his destination, but because of firefighters and their poor payment for such honorable deed of this profession. It seems contradictory to think that Joaquin Phoenix may have earned millons to illustrate this character who in reality lives in sad condition, not knowing if he/she will come back home everyday. What makes me feel content, however, is that they can enjoy the power of rejoice by saving people from their plight. The song at the end, "Shine Your Light", fits right into the movie and enhances the entire emotional atmosphere. Personally I think, the guy who sings it expresses exactly what people feel in Jack's Funeral.

    3. Titanic
---I don't like love stories in movie, but when the ship was sinking, Jack and Rose were trying to find a way out, I cried harder as the water level rose higher. Maybe it's the special occasion that makes the love impressive and moving.

    4. Black Hawk Down
--- I love this movie not because it is a weeper, but I have to put it in this list. The sad part that made me cry is that pilot who is trying to feel and grab the photo of his family on the ground while Somalis mounted over him and beat him up. This story actually happened: A peace keeping task finally turned to a slaughter.

    5. Schindler's List
--- It's no wonder in the top 10 list of IMDB. Probably the best in terms of the greatness in humanity. I think most people will be moved by the line "I could have saved more" with Schindler sobbing and kneeling on the ground. Spielberg deserves credit for recording history and adding some of his own sentiment into it.

    6. Life is Beautiful (Vita è bella, La)
--- Same concentration camp issue. The father was the sarcastic element. I can't even watch along when he walked in a funny manner at the German soldier's gun point, showing his son the last time "Life is Beautiful".

    7. The Bridges of Madison County
--- I don't know why the flashing tail light of Robert's pickup triggered my tear. Maybe their deep love? The emptiness I suddenly felt when he finally drove away left there in my memory.

    8. Crash
--- It's boring to mention how successful this movie is, yet I still can't hold myself everytime the little angel said "Dad, I protect you." Words can't express my gratitude to the director when I know she is unharmed and the bullet is the "blank" type.

    9. Spiderman 2
--- It may seem weird to have a sci-fi movie in a weeper list. I did cry, or I should say sob when Aunt May implied Parker to call Spiderman back. "Everybody loves a hero. People line up for them, cheer them, scream their names. And years later, they'll tell how they stood in the rain for hours just to get a glimpse of the one who taught them how to hold on a second longer. I believe there's a hero in all of us, that keeps us honest, gives us strength, makes us noble, and finally allows us to die with pride, even though sometimes we have to be steady, and give up the thing we want the most. Even our dreams. "

    10. Pearl Harbor
--- Full credit to the score. Tears to the soundtrack.
I have to admit my fav composer for movie is Hans Zimmer. He had done splendid job in composing in movies like: The Thin Red Line, The Lion King (Oscar Awards), Pirates of the Caribbean 2 and 3, Black Hawk Down, Hannibal, and other movies that I don't know about.

    Next post: saddest Chinese movies.
